Chloé is one of the biggest leading fashion houses, known for luxury ready-to-wear collections alive with femininity. It was founded in 1952 as an answer for strict policies regarding female attire in the 50s. Gaby Aghion and Jacques Lenoir were one of the earliest designers who formulated the prêt-à-porter term. Brand was named after Gaby's friend who personified the carefree young woman of that time.


Chloé first boutique wasn't opened until the beginning of the 70s., yet until then the brand managed to earn a title of supreme embodiment of youth and femininity. Beside that, it resurfaced in the perfect time as a solution for a demand of haute couture and easily accessible prêt-à-porter collections while other fashion houses only offered bespoke services.


Along with the founders, Karl Lagerfeld became the main designer in the 60s who produced two collections annually. The current character of the maison, defined by gauzy dresses and blouses and tenuous skirts, we owe to the man himself. The successors at the creative helm of the brand were: Martine Sitbon, Phoebe Philo, Paulo Melim Andersson, Hannah MacGibbon, Clare Waight Keller and Natacha Ramsay-Levi who guides Chloé at this moment.
