THE MOST FASHIONABLE SHOE STYLES

FOR THE SPRING/SUMMER SEASON

“A woman with good shoes is never ugly.” - Coco Chanel once said, and especially this season... we couldn’t agree more.

The right pair of shoes—meaning those that are both comfortable and stylish—can dramatically transform any outfit.

Sometimes they perfectly break up the seriousness and formality of a total look, while often elevating it to a new level of elegance. They tempt with innovative

designs, but just as often captivate with minimalist shapes or details. Choosing the ideal pair of shoes is therefore not the easiest task. However, we

decided to make it easier for you and selected, from the spring-summer collections of global brands, the models that made the greatest impression on fashion

enthusiasts. Explore our guide to the most fashionable shoes of the season and find your

dream pair today.

DOWN TO EARTH: THE GRAND RETURN OF BALLET FLATS

Even those who don’t necessarily follow trends know that ballet flats are experiencing a true renaissance in fashion. These flat-soled shoes are making a splash not only on the runways of renowned designers but, more importantly, on the streets of the world’s greatest fashion capitals. Trendsetters, stylists, and devoted fashion enthusiasts are eagerly incorporating them into their casual outfits, interpreting this must-have style in countless creative ways.

There is no other option than to add at least one pair of this until-recently forgotten style staple to your wardrobe and try out this much-talked-about trend for yourself—on your own feet and on your own terms. Which designs deserve your attention? Timeless and elegant pointed-toe models are offered by Lanvin, Proenza Schouler, and Burberry. For those who love extravagance, Jimmy Choo and Maison Margiela have stunning options, while pure casual chic is showcased by Chloé, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Tory Burch. Choose from muted tones, exclusive logo details, as well as decorative textures and ties.

FOCUS ON COLOR

Saturated, neon, and even electrifying shades are covering every shoe model this year. We can’t deny that this fact excites us immensely. After all, there is no better way to elevate your spring looks than with accessories—or in this case, footwear—in bold, ultra-vibrant colors. With both lovers of elegance and streetwear enthusiasts in mind, we have curated a selection of shoes that will work effortlessly in classic as well as avant-garde outfits.

If you love extravagant heeled shoes, those from Victoria Beckham, Jimmy Choo, Bottega Veneta, or Saint Laurent will certainly live up to all your expectations. Colorful platforms remain a hallmark of Versace, but this season you’ll also find them in Giuseppe Zanotti’s collection. Perfect for spring, mules and sandals are the highlights of JW Anderson and The Attico, while innovative and comfortable sneakers take center stage at Chloé and Balenciaga.

ANTICIPATING THE FIRST DAYS OF SUMMER

From the runway straight to the streets – this spring, open-toe shoes will be just as stylish of a choice. Fortunately, you don’t have to limit yourself to just one aesthetic, as the versatile selection of these models lets you hunt down both timeless designs for everyday wear and extremely avant-garde pieces for grand evening occasions.

Look for the former among the offerings from Bottega Veneta, Isabel Marant, and Chloé. The spectacular 'Knot' and 'Atomic' mules appeared in Matthieu Blazy’s collection, the master of romantic boho opted for constructions with decorative straps and striking embellishments, and Gabriela Hearst balanced between stylish platform sandals and a new interpretation of the now-iconic 'Woody' slides. Meanwhile, Saint Laurent, Jimmy Choo, and Dolce & Gabbana presented slightly bolder selections. Their designs were adorned with shimmering crystals, animal motifs, and glittery textures. The Attico duo also did not lag behind, releasing suede styles on the decorative 'Cheope' wedge in their spring-summer collection.

SPRING AT NEW HEIGHTS

Although platforms came back into fashion several seasons ago, designers are still not giving up on this trend. With their spring-summer collections, they’ve proven that they still have plenty to say on the subject, and have expanded their offerings for the coming months with completely new and often unexpected models.

A perfect example of this are the latest designs from Alaïa, Alexander McQueen, and Versace. The collections from the first two brands have welcomed constructions inspired by the grunge style that dominated the 90s, while the Italian brand led by Donatella Versace has solidified its position as the leader of ultra-high footwear, releasing new 18-centimeter (7-inch) boots and expanding the color range of the now-iconic 'Medusa Aevitas' sandals. The Balmain fashion house wowed us this season with a fashionable leopard pattern, while Rick Owens captured hearts with the exquisitely crafted ‘Minimal Grill Beatle’ model. Much lower, yet still stylish platforms have appeared in the portfolios of Stella McCartney, Marni, and Chloé. Sometimes taking the form of espadrilles, occasionally loafers, but most often – fashionable sandals.

SHARP AS A RAZOR

Although pointed-toe shoes are typically associated with understated classic styles, this season there is nothing boring about them. Top designers have unveiled a new (and exceptionally striking) take on this popular silhouette, offering models for every occasion in the coming months.

Exclusive stilettos, highly recommended for lovers of elegance, continue to dominate Balenciaga’s collection. The iconic, razor-sharp 'Knife' has been updated this season with both crocodile-effect leather and eye-catching metallic thread. At Burberry, timeless styles are adorned with logo details, while Jimmy Choo’s creative director has embellished shoes with bows, decorative buckles, shimmering crystals, and asymmetrical cutouts. And that's not all! The inimitable Donatella Versace has also embraced pointed toes, opting for the much-loved model with a signature curved heel—the 'Pin-Point'—in her spring/summer collection.
